The only thing I didn't do was list the specific damages but I did do that prior and no response. I guess the market is just dry? As for the picture quality, I know it could be better but thats all I have access to so its the best I could do.

Members mnewb1
Relax! You're too young to be getting frustrated like this. Leave it on Craig's List and keep relisting it. The right buyer just hasn't seen it yet. the Doc is right, be patient.
Members samtheman8
have you tried consigning it? I haven't mainly because I don't know too much about this process. I know I give it to a B&M to sell and we split the sale at a percentage. But I want at least $250 out of it. Can I just say I want $250 and anything they sell if for they keep? I'd almost rather go to a GC and just get it rid of it there but I feel like I would leave so much on the table.
Members catscurlyear
you should put some better pics on there ,pics where we can zoom in and have a better look at the condition .i use a very cheap camera and upload with imageshack (it`s free) and it gives you the ability to realy zoom in and take a good look. good luck
Members Ratbatblues
GC wont give you squat for it. Just lower your price....it will sell.
Members headless
I was wrong; there's nothing wrong with your ad. If I were shopping for that type of guitar, I wouldn't have any problem answering that ad. I can't speak to the guitar's price, as I don't know anything about the market in that in your area. I guess the only thing I'd want to see additional in that ad is the gig-bag included in one of the pics with the guitar. There are some shoppers who exclusively use photograph browsing of CL, and if it doesn't appear in the pics, it's off their radar-screen. Also, I'd like to see the tremolo-bar, since they get lost a lot, and I'd want to know if you have it. BTW, what is that on the G-string, near the tuner? Is it just a digital artifact, or is there a mark on the headstock?

Love this Strat but I'm looking to fund a different guitar. Everything is in pretty good condition. Any damage I found was too small to be visible on any of the pictures. Your ad is not the worst I've seen by far and much better than many. That said, people don't care that you want to sell this to buy another guitar. If they do, they'll ask when they come to see the guitar. I would change this line to this: Great 2003 Fender MIM Stratocaster! Either say it is very good condition, good condition or nice condition but not "pretty good" condition. And drop the "any damage line" and replace with "Check the condition for yourself in the pics below." The part about emails without phone numbers is excellent and shows seriousness and professionalism. Regards, Flip.

I just bought a 2007 MIM Strat for $200 this morning but that's an anomoly. If you were local I'd take it from you, that's actually the color I was looking for. Hey this is Jeff..I have a few friends looking at your add we always talk craigslist and guitars after gigs and such..I wouldn't worry about it..It will sell.Sometimes it is a matter of timing..Right now times are tough in the Lou..You also have to remember that we are in the saving period of the year..Many like myself use the months of October and November to save the money for Christmas..Another couple weeks people will be spending that money and your guitar will sell.. Members Mister Crow
That *Emails without a phone number will be ignored* is a turn-off. I don't like giving a phone number if I'm just asking a few questions. To me, it is a bit of a red flag that the seller is a dick. When you have something for sale, be prepared to answer questions from potential buyers through e-mail. Also, "everything is in pretty good condition" can mean vastly different things to different people. Be MUCH more specific. Include pix, even if you can't really see the damage- it will show that it's almost unrecognizable. I've gone to see guitars that are in "pretty good condition", and they've had gouges down to the bare wood and big cracks in the neck pocket. Other "pretty good condition" guitars I've seen have been almost mint. People want specifics if they are going to bother driving out to you. It looks like you are not selling it with either a HSC or a gig bag. Big turn off to a lot of potential buyers. I just sold an excellent condition 1999 MIM Fender Stratocaster WITH a hardshell case for $250 on Craigslist. It took about 2 weeks. It's the economy. People are making due with what they have. Just some observations from a CraigsList junkie.

When you have something for sale, be prepared to answer questions from potential buyers through e-mail. I see validity in Mister Crow's points, from the buyers point of view. But as a seller I have listed items with instructions about what type of email I'd respond to. Any time you are the least-bit negative in an ad--even if it's in the service of complete honesty--it can be a turn-off to some shoppers. Ever get a response to an CL posting like this: "I want to buy your guitar. Give my your address", but no phone number is included? Now you've got to email the guy back; it's just one more delay in the process, and if you get a lot of responses then you can spend all day playing email ping-pong. But then, as I have done, if you post an ad that has good pictures and answers pretty-much any question that one could ask about the item, people either don't read the text, or get turned-off by it's length, and move-on to the next CL ad. Members Brendan
Also consider trades on CL if it still doesn't sell. I've done well with that. You can get something that has more potential buyers.

The questions come from poorly worded or vague ads. I find it helps sales to limit things that might cause a potential buyer to hesitate. Part of selling is answering questions. Sales don't begin with "I'm in my car with cash and I desperately need your exact address so I can hand it to you." They begin with an interested potential buyer who usually has questions that, when answered, will possibly push them towards buying your product. Members steve_man
Biggest problem I see with the ad is how vague this section is: "Everything is in pretty good condition. Any damage I found was too small to be visible on any of the pictures." I know it's hard to photograph a finish flaw, or light surface scratches on a white guitar. However, if you can't get it to show up in pics, DESCRIBE exactly what is wrong...even if it's just pick marks on the pickguard. "Any damage I found" does not tell me much...almost seems like you're trying to hide something....even though I know you're probably not. $250 is a great price, especially if it's in good shape. DESCRIBE the fret condition, and modifications made, does it come with the gig bag?, recent setup, etc.
