Whatever it is, you can count on three things..

1 - At least 4 digits on the price, and the first won't be a 1..

2 - HCEG will hate it, but secretly lust over it and pray for an Epiphone version.

3 - There will be a GFS version that'll almost not suck. Almost..

The Gibson Firebird X is a Fender Jaguar Shaped guitar with everything you'd find in a multi effects pedal built into the body of the guitar, with free software like ableton and other stuff, plus two pedals, bluetooth a microprocessor, a four hour battery (only $8 at radio shack!) and a huge case... Evidently, they include spare parts so if you have a problem, you can be your own guitar tech...

Gibsons for Luddites

Gibson Firebird X Press Conference NYC

Wow.

Quote from blog:

The one thing that kept needling me was Henry Juszkiewicz's consistent reference to everyone else (Chinese, Japanese, American guitarmakers) copying design and guitars etc... That innovation previously meant a shape or color change...

(He implied this was the first major thought which went into neck carving...maybe at Gibson?. He also referred to the guitarist who may resist this as "Luddites" several times.... That surprised me, as there are such huge Gibson Brand advocates out there, why would you demean them with that sort of classification.... Maybe because it was an "insider event" he felt comfortable dissing the company's bread and butter products and customers. Dude, the margins on your $5000 Historic Reissues for Luddites program must be a real thorn in your side huh, and with zero R&D!?

Hey. {censored} you Henry.

I've been in a meeting for the last hour, and I was hopig to come back and find that the REAL revolutionary thing had been announced... Instead, I find this FirebirdX thing really was it. The idiocy at the helm of Gibson right now is simply staggering.. Sure, release the guitar as a one shot kinda deal. It'll sell out and people will move on. But all THIS hype over THAT guitar? Give me a break.. I give Henry 6 more months in that job, not a second longer.

Gibson dupes its fans once again.

{censored}ty QC, problems importing wood, new and "innovative" models ugly as sin, one of the worst companies to work for, overpriced products and now this type of dog and pony antic.

Yeah, I'd agree that CEO chair will be empty soon. If he can't control it, he shouldn't be smoking that {censored}.
