its going to be a cross promotion with guitar hero.. a gibby you can plug in to an xbox and it will be a game controler.. and a whole new line of gibbons too..

the dusk sloth

dusk monkey

dusk cow

dusk {censored} ...cat

and the dusk marketing guy with his head up his ass..

although they are not set on the name... but the concept is solid.

I saw that one.. I figured, like you, there would be something bigger on the main site.

The spoiler about the USB guitar that'll pop up Amplitube and all that....... That's pretty friggin cool. Maybe not for professional touring musicians who are above such novelties ( ), but for kids learning to play and even hobbyists, that'd be awesome. Revolutionary? Well, maybe, if they handle it right.. More exciting than just about anything Gibson has done since the Flying V and Explorer annoyed parents and pastors everywhere? Most definitely..

EDIT: Oh, and the day they start rolling guitars branded "Gibson" out of China, they'll do more to devalue their brand than even old Norlin managed to pull off..

Just posted this in the other thread about this as well but, my office is near the Hard Rock Cafe. I'm busy till 12:30 but am going to swing up there after that and try to get an in-person peep at the guitar (or whatever the hell it is). I'll report back and post some photos after that.

Sweet!

Here's hoping they didn't make such a fuss over a POS.

Wait, I've got it figured out.. Remember "IT"? How "IT" was going to change the world? Well, "IT" turned out to be the Segway, which, well, is retarded... So Gibson decided to blend a Segway and a Les Paul, we'll call it the "SegPaul" for now, and the purpose is to keep all the aging rockers mobile while on stage. Face it, all the good guitar players are getting old and some are probably having trouble getting around at this point. The younger generation obviously sucks, judging from virtually everything published within the last decade, so they want to keep the guys that knew how to bring teh rawk around as long as possible..

Gibson attempts outside of tradition:

Les Paul Recording

RD Artist with Moog electronics

Les Paul HD6X Pro

Powertune

Robot

Dark Fire

Dusk Tiger

Ltd. Edition Standard (oxymoron?)

I think Gibson might consider creating a new brand to market these endeavors. They're good ideas, but I think they fail because they are too far out of scope for the Gibson name.
