Guitars that didn't work out

Last week I got on the board and asked about the EBMM John Petrucci vs a Gibson Explorer. I tried out several Explorers and settled on the John Petrucci. The reason I am writing is that I ended up taking the guitar back after about 4 days. I played it live and with my son on drums but in the end I didn't care much for the sound through my own rig.

I feel absolutely horrible right now and was hoping some of you fellow forum bros can tell me about your lost loves! I hope that I am not alone on this one. Thanks Frank

i made this one a few months ago, and i just haven't bonded with it at all. I know your feeling.

:cry: This is a sad post indeed. You would think that making a guitar to your exact specifications would make you love it but it made you regret making it. I hope if i ever get the courage (or skill) to build my own i won't have the same problem.

I love a great Gibson tone but hate the scale length. I actually love their necks too (fenders are too small for me). It kinda pisses me off because I have bought a couple hoping things would change but eventually sell them. Guess I am just not a short scale man.

PS I have big hands, that could be it.
