Members gnr2391
If someone is selling a guitar for really cheap, what are ways to check he is not ripping me off? Basically, this guy on craiglists is selling his Highway 1 strat for 400 instead of 500-600 like everyone else is. There is a huge chip in the body, but I honestly think theres some kind of scam going on, just because its so much cheaper than everyone else's. What should I look out for in a seller like this? Members slashfacepalm
It's probably not a scam, but you want to check the body and neck to make sure the numbers match up.

Members ashtray
Just do your homework on what he's selling - but it doesn't sound like a scam from what you said. A chipped hwy1 is $400 if the rest of the guitar is ok. If the neck is warped or frets severely worn etc, could be worth less. Plus it's a buyers market. Tough to sell in this economy.
