Members megaboogie
We are doing a 70's 80's night and I'm going to be doing a guitar solo. I can think of tons of metal/rock solos, but I need to play something that are not too "brutal". I was thinking "Still got the blues" although it was released in 1990... I thought you guys can help me out with some good oldies, nothing too difficult, I'm an average guitar player.
Members Guitar God
Just improv off a pentatonic scale.
Members megaboogie
Just improv off a pentatonic scale. The average audience gets bored by an average guitar player doing a improv off a pentatonic. Has to be a song, something mainstream.

Members megaboogie
I'd love to play AC/DC and Metallica but they want something that are more mellow and mainstream along the line of "Still got the blues". At first they asked me to play "stairway to Heaven" oh no... I only play that song at guitar center.

Members Nazgul6
I'm a metalhead but at my wedding I got up and jammed with the wedding band. We played "That's What I Like About You." The guitarist and I traded solos. The crowd went nuts. Everyone was singing along and dancing.
Members m90guy
Life's Been Good - Joe Walsh Im gonna third that. The only other solo that I would recomend is the solo in Twisted Sisters Were Not Gonna Take It. Its silly easy and recognizable as well.

Members 's mel gibson
I'd Rather See You Dead._Pat Travers-1982. A very set, pretty lead, IMO anyways. Don't Take Me Alive-Steely Dan-1976. All the instrumental guitar parts are my faves.
Members BeanoBoy
'Cuts Like a Knife'- Bryan Adams. Keith Scott, Bryan's guitarist, always played tasty, easy to play solos. One of Bryan's early, not so sappy songs.
