Members Lester Burnham
What would you guys recommend? It would go in the neck position of a VH type setup (single hum, maple neck, basswood body, W/ a floyd rose). I like the guitar, but it IS kind of a one trick pony. It seems to be kind of a bright sounding guitar, so i'd like something with maybe a darker clean sound that could counteract that. .I'd like a good "woody" sounding pickup that would get me in the ballpark of my rosewood board strat. I'm pretty open -- i'm not opposed to a stacked single-coil either. I typically play blues/classic rock/80's hard rock type stuff, just to give you an idea. Members algernon7
I have a Squier Cyclone with a Tex Mex single coil in the neck, it freakin' rocks.Gets a good gutsy blues sound with mediumg gain, and with high gain you can get some scorching lead tones. I have a generic ESP humbucker in the bridge, sort of like a SD '59. I have one volume which would be for both pickups. Oh and along with a 3 way switch, I would probably add a tone control. It's an inexpensive instrument, but I just like it...I just want more versatility. A good clean sound is important, but if the pickup handles gain well, then that's just a bonus. Also do you know what pickup is in the neck. Is it an alnico or ceramic pickup?

I actually don't have a pickup in the neck -- I would get my guitar routed for a neck single coil (it doesn't have a pickguard).
