Members guitarman3001
Any chance we can make a sticky thread with this info? I had this problem and I keep seeing people having this problem all the time. Frustrating as hell until someone explained it to me. Anyway, the way to embed videos on this forum is simple. Instead of using the entire embed code from youtube, you simply put the part after the "=" sign of the video URL. For example, if you want to embed the following video: instead of pasting the whole embed code from youtube, you would simply put qqK1bUBAXpk inside the youtube tags. Members notjonahbutnoah
Making this a sticky isn't bad, I see threads all the time that have a link, and then 4 posts down, someone embeds it for them. It's so easy. The thing i notice is that the little picture you click to make the youtube tags appear is seemingly broken. You know, right below the "men" in "attachments" when you "go advanced." That's supposed to be the youtube logo right? Is it just my pc or do you guys just see the broken image thing too on that button?
Members orourke
I have to hit Go Advanced and then hit the little blue box with the question mark in it to get the Youtube tags. There used to be a Youtube thing to hit but it's gone. While were at it, could someone please explain how to embed a url link so that it shows up as a phrase or word of ones choosing. guitarman3001 and notjonhbutnoah both have them in there sigs. How the heck do you do that?
Members sleewell
take everything after the = sign, in this instance qqK1bUBAXpk and wrap the tags around it, here you go:

How the heck do you do that? It involves tags and whatnot, but I don't know how, I'm sure you could look up the html for it. The one in my sig I just typed and it turned blue like in your sig. Or, next time someone posts what you're talking about, quote them so you can see their raw text ya know?
Members etawful
If you click on reply instead of using the quick reply window at the bottom of the screen, there are a bunch of icons across the top of where you enter your message. If you click on the one that's a globe with a chain: It will allow you to first enter the URL of your link. If you look at the whole text that's posted when you click "OK", you will notice that there is an open bracket "[" then URL=xx.xxx.com then a close bracket "]". Then you will see your link again followed by a "/URL" in brackets. Simply replace the second copy of your link with whatever text. For instance, if you do not replace the second copy of your link and pasted the MF website, you'd get this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ If you replace the second occurrence of the link, you get this: Musician's Friend If you wanted to type it out, it would look like this: "["URL=http://www.musiciansfriend.com/]Musician's Friend/[/url"]" But take out the quotes around the first open bracket and the last close bracket

BUT!! There's one more little bit to this You do indeed post what comes after the "=", but you also need to quit copying before the next "=". Not all YT links have that, but some are too long after the "=" and need to be truncated to get them to work as an embedded YT vid. Like here, stop copying before the next "=" sometimes it will say things like "related"@#% Iowa91 goes country.
