My cheap tone

I was trying out POD Farm 2, which I just got for $40. I'm not sure if what I used is also available in POD Farm which I got for free.

I used some free impulse responses instead of a cabinet.

Typically I use Recabinet, which are very cheap and very good, but found the other impulses yesterday and decided to try them.

I usually use some eq., compression, reverb and limiting at the end. This time it's just DUY's Z-Room.

I don't know if they still offer it for free as they recently did.

I know that on the PC there are plenty of cheap/free plugins of high quality, but for the Mac (at least on PPC Macs) the choice is more limited. So here's my cheap tone, done in a single take. I had only heard the backing track once or twice last night.

I may eq. it a little bit using DDMF which I got back when they were donationware.

Feedback is welcome as always :)

hey if some cat has to stones to post his playing and not just photos of his gear then GREAT!! i think it sounds really good seems like you got that closed back cab sound down.. sounds like a paul.. and i think it sounds as good as most any live amp.. sits in the mix really well..

would love to know where the backing came from.. it reminds me of stormy monday... Allman version

good stuff!!

Buen trabajo Eddie!

No suena nada barato.... suena bien, talvez un poquito "encajonado" para mi gusto, pero creo que tu querias que sonara asi....

Sigue adelante!!!!

Good job Eddie!!!

Does not sound cheap.... sounds good, maybe a little "boxy" for my taste, but I think you were intending to do that!!

Onward!

Gracias Omar :)

scuzzo, the track came fro Line6. They have some great tracks. In this one, it's Carmine Appice (drums), Tony Franklin (bass) and James Santiago (guitar).

I'll record another "jam" with one of the other tracks, but this time I'll work a bit more on it :D

dang thats one hell of a work out..

the they quick the tempo on the last 3rd.. great fun but you really have to stay on top of those changes... tricky stuff... defiantly not slow pitch.. and seem to only work for a Paul..

thanks for the link..
