Nothing wrong with that setup!

I love the amp, but I need new pickups in the Squier. The gutiar plays quite nicely, it feels bettr than any MIM i've played, but i have the Vintage Noiseless pickups in it and they just aren't stratty enough for me, i find them very bland.

I agree Josh though, that Gretsch is one gorgeous guitar :thu:

Doc, I've never had many opportunities to play Duo Jets and only once through an amp (briefly). How would you compare the tone of yours vis-a-vis your 6120?

The one I have is a bit different. Elliot Easton wanted a longer scale for added twang and a bit more sustain. So it's more in the tele meets sg vein. They have large chambers which gives the tone a warm woodiness. My 6120 has a noticeable presence in the treble, probably from all of that maple. The zero fret on certain 6120's from 1959 onwards provides a nice ring to the timbre--almost like an acoustic guitar. But powered up, both the 6120 and my EE have chewy crunch. Both sound great for blues or even with saturated overdrive. Good stuff all around.
