Frets99
# Mahogany back and sides # Solid Spruce Top # Mahogany neck # Rosewood fingerboard and bridge # 16 position lines # 21 scale # Custom Die Cast Tuners # Pahoehoe Polyurethane strings # Custom Kala and Roadtoad logo inlays # Custom Shadow bass pickup with 4 individual piezo elements # Separate compensated saddles for each string http://www.kalaukulele.com/detail.asp?product_id=KA-UBASS-2-FL I have the fretless (cause I love the challenge! ) but there is also a fretted model. The scale is so ridiculously different from my other basses that it does take some getting used to but as you've heard, I think I've acclimated myself to it. Now it just feels ideal for my hands. And here's a soundclick comparing the Kala and the Michael Kelly unplugged Kala n Kelly And recorded in a song: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=510737&songID=9889839

Frets99
Alan, that little uke bass is way cool looking. I imagine it's a blast to play. I'm having a blast with it! However when our guitarist and I switched, he seemed a lot less comfortable with it!
