Members misle
I'm about to buy a Sheraton II and I've never been a big fan of Epiphone's pickups, so what would you recommend I get for dirty rock and a bit of stoner. I am partial to Alnico II magnets in my pickups.
Members kayd_mon
I have Duncan Alnico Pro IIs in my Dot. It sounds fantastic. Since a Dot and a Sheraton are similar, I'd expect them to sound great in there.
Members misle
Cool. I really like the Pearly Gates/Custom Custom mix in my LP, but that may be too hot for this guitar.

Members mhuxtable
Seymour Duncan Seth Lover (PAFs) pickups are the shiznit. As someone on this board told me why you would pick Seth Lovers over other pickups: You put Seth Lovers in a guitar when you want it to sound awesome. Oh and they are Alnico II
Members curseoftruth
The stock pups in my Sheraton sound great, especially the neck. I have no immediate plans to change them out. If I do, it will be for 57 Classics, no questions asked. I've played a Sheraton with 57 Classics, sounded amazing.

Members steve_man
Don't do anything for a while. Get the guitar and settle in with it. You may just find that you like the stock pics. I love the ones in mine...they sound great!

I'll give them a chance and hopefully they surprise me. 57 Classics are on top of the list, but they are pricey. Maybe I'll get lucky on CL. Members photon9
those guitars were made for 57 classics Yep. My Dad has 57 Classics in his and it sounds fantastic! Though it sounded really good with the stock pups too. Remember pup height matters... tweak it for a while before you make your final decision. I know that's a mundane thing to say around here... obviously not nearly as sexy as talking about new pups, but trust me give it a try before you do anything that drastic. You might be surprised how big a difference it actually makes.

Members cratz2
Honestly... and this is coming from a pickup snob... I think the stock pickups in the Sheraton aren't horrible at all. Some of the pickups in some of the Epi 335 types aren't all that impressive, but the Sheraton units aren't awful. Having said that, if I were to get a Sheraton and wanted to upgrade the pickups, I'd either go for Seth Lovers, the 57 Classics or the GFS Alnico IIs. The Lovers have the most complexity... the 57s are very smooth, but high output enough to get into almost any type of music and the GFS set are the driest sounding which isn't bad, just not very lively. I have all three sets in various guitars and enjoy them each quite a bit but honestly, I'd consider leaving them stock... I'd play around with heights for a while at least. Members steve_man
These are the Epi version of the '57 classics. Keep in mind that they were designed for this guitar...changing to another PAF will probably not make that big of a difference. Oh...and to stoke your GAS...
