Members steve_man
Okay...I love my Sheraton...I'm not even in the market for a semi...but every time I see this guitar online, I'm thinking that it's too good to be true. I've never seen one in person, but the pics and reviews make it sound amazing. Any of you guys had any experience with them? Peavey JF-
Members Prages
I think most of the Peavey guitars people consider 'sleepers' are the American made ones from the late 70s through the early 90s. You can get them used for a song, and they are pretty good guitars. Those might be good guitars, but I wouldn't call them 'sleepers'. Just low priced decent guitars. Members etawful
I keep going back and looking at those myself. I've been wanting a 335-ish guitar, and at that price, these are VERY tempting.
Members diceman1000
i have no experirnce with that particular model, but my MIK HP Signature EXP is defineatly a "sleeper"
Members steve_man
I'm just wondering if they are as nice in person as they look in pics...
Members photon9
Not sure how they play but there's something about the body shape that just irks me, I have no idea why.
Members steve_man
is it the body shape, or the headstock shape?

One was flawless but the other had a few issues, mostly cosmetic. The one I played felt really nice and sounded great. It would have benefited from a nice pro setup and a new nut. Other than that, I think that they are a terrific bang for the buck.

Members fatobyfaelogie
my dad has a peavy similar to that, was a nice sound a pleasure to play, but the tuning has a mind of its own, better machine heads or locking ones would help
Members Invader.CC
Ya the JF-1 along with a lot of other Peavy guitars are great sleepers .. Here are a few more Peavy sleepers..Any 0f the T series but the the T-60 is a incredible guitar. The detonator series was so far ahead of its time if the same guitar was released now under a different name the guitar would be known as the new thing in shredder guitars,The reactor series is a Tele copy that because its a Peavey is much over looked .They are on par with Fenders and are completely 100% U.S.A made. They sound and play great ..On the used maket they go from $100 to $150 and quality wise are 4 times that amount.

Members MoreGuitars
I've never played one, but I like where they put the toggle switch compared to a standard 335. I own 7 Generation EX ACM's and I'm a huge fan.
Members BlueSky1963
Looks like it's time to reconsider Peavey's guitars. Guess I tend to dismiss them, I can remember when they first came out and every kid on the block had a T-60. (Except me, I had a Memphis LP copy.) Members steve_man
I've only played a few Peavey guitars...most were very cheap, but a buddy of mine had one of their basses with a carbon fiber neck...and WOW did it play/sound nice.
