Members illinismitty
I have a PRS Singlecut SE coming my way from M123 (kiss my ass Sam Ash). How are the stock pickups- {censored}ty, good, great? I am just wondering I need to budget money for an upgrade, or if it won't really make that much of a difference. Members _pete_
They aren't bad. There are better and there are a lot worse. I kept the stockers in the SE Singlecuts that I've had.I tried GFS in one but liked the stockers better.
Members GAS Man
The ones in my double cuts are kinda drab but do fine with some gain cranked on. Last year I bought 4 of the double cuts on blow out sales. One I bought for my son was the Paul Allendar sig model (bats on the neck inlay) and its pickups were noticeably better sounding than the others. I plan on replacing all of them on the other 3 OR selling off the guitars.
Members MyEmergency
I had one of the PRS SE Custom, the semi hollow one, and I think the pickups were suprisingly good, I saw no reason to change the pickups at all
Members *BLEEP*
If you are talking about recent vintage as opposed to the first couple of years they made SE models, then they are certainly decent -- like 8 on a 10 scale, or even a 8.3 on a 10 scale. Pickups in the first 2 or 3 years of PRS SE's seemed like they were nothing more than pickups that came from the MIK-Epiphone factory (6.5 on a 10 scale, or just plain ol' blah). Members lincoln40
They are ok sounding until you go into real high volume than they start to squeal
Members *BLEEP*
They are ok sounding until you go into real high volume than they start to squeal Turn it up to eleven and they'll squeal like you just stepped on a white bull terrier puppy. I guess that's why the call them PRS Bull Terrier P'ups.

Members brandass
I've found all the SE HBs too bland for my taste, haven't gone through with a buy but if I did I'd swap the pups right away. My SE P90s are a little too polite, but nice enough that I've stuck with them for several years now. My SE EG singles were the opposite, way too aggressive and raw; swapped them instantly. Haven't tried this newest generation of SEs though, maybe they've made some big changes? Good luck!
