Members hardtdc
Wow, that is unbelievably gorgeous. I can't imagine what that will cost and what the tally will be on the final auction bid.
Members cratz2
I certainly makes a statement. But seriously... gold leaf ON the frets? If it was me, I think I'd have gone for the gold leaf on the body and the headstock and told them to mix up the batch of the goldest/most amber-tinted nitro clear they could come up with for the back of the neck and the fretboard. Well, actually if it was me, I would have gone for Surf Green or Coral.

Members erold
It's cool and excessive, but aesthetically I must say I hate it. It's ugly.

Members soundcreation
A store near me has one. I can't remember if it's full on like that or just the body though. It's alright I guess. Honestly in person it looks a little cheap.

Members Phrophus
Because Prince is known for being so subtle... lol. It looks more subtle than some of his past guitars. I mean, it's Prince. The dude can pull off things that most of us would never dream of even trying.

Members sk8centilli
I dig it and the idea that it's going for charity, too. I mean, it's Prince. Members notjonahbutnoah
Has anyone ever seen "An Evening with Kevin Smith?" I guess Prince got in touch with him to work on some film that had to do with Mr. Jesus or something... Kevin talks at length about it, and man... Prince is bat-{censored} insane. Great musician and all, but totally nuts. I mean, most celebs are kinda weird, everyone's weird... but Prince... whoa. He is incapable of surprising me. This guitar makes perfect sense... it's almost too subtle for him. However, it "coming to him in a dream" is right on the money. Yo, check it, if you're bored and wanna hear a damn interesting story: [video=youtube;Gy_cLJ19HMg]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy_cLJ19HMg [video=youtube;a9O130NYr_4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9O130NYr_4 [video=youtube;rCm4Jxo3ltE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCm4Jxo3ltE [video=youtube;Vo0LbQzdz1A]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo0LbQzdz1A&feature=related New embed rules... this took a bit to figure out... all for you, HCEG. Members RaVenCAD
For the average dude, that strat is obnoxious.. For Prince, it's awesome. He's an amazing showman, an excellent musician, and that guitar suits him perfectly.
Members cratz2
Yeah, the Kevin Smith bit is priceless. "Prince has been living in Princeland for a long time now..." I love Kevin Smith as a writer and director, but I've come to like his three 'Evenings With' even more. He's a great story-teller and has great timing. Members Cloudguitar
I'm guessing they didn't design it for practicality in mind, or they would have done as suggested and gave the neck a strong golden tint instead of the leafing. The idea is that this would be played in one concert, then auctioned off for it's uniqueness as a collectible. A completely gold guitar owned and played by Prince? I'm guessing a collector will pay high dollar. Besides, the only time he plays unpowered single coils, he goes to his old Hohner Tele's. Otherwise, his guitars are all fitted with EMG's. The Custom Shop strat he's been playing in concert has a Floyd and an EMG hum and single.

Haha "So he'll say to us, I need a camel" The bit that stuck with me the most is how he has tons of fully produced music videos with sets and cotumes and everything for songs that have never been released and no one will probably ever see the videos. Well... I can understand that. I record plenty of stuff that nobody will hear and occasionally make videos that nobody will see, but not because I'm a recluse that hides them (they're on Soundclick and YouTube), but because nobody gives a {censored}
