Members monto
i like the fast bit he does during the solo from 3:13 to 3:15 .... i'm gonna try to learn it (playing fast is one thing i dont do well haha). does anyone have any tips? eg. i assume hes picking every note, right? ps. maybe one of u guys could be a real legend and film yourself playing it slowly so i can see how to do it properly (but otherwise, just some tips to get me started would be nice) [video=youtube;R-4BthN-TjA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-4BthN-TjA
Members GCDEF
I can, but I like repeating patterns like that and tend to play them a lot, so over the years that kind of stuff just comes naturally. Practice and try not to think about it too much when you're doing it. Stuff like that for me is more mental than physical.
Members aliensporebomb
It sounds like he's just alternating notes at first then descending down the pentatonic scale. He's basically just using two fingers on his left hand to do it but..... The funny thing is even though he's not using his pinky at all during that run, his pinky is moving up and down involuntarily during it. weird. You can slow that down by using a program called the amazing slow-downer to get the notes and then practice...
Members benzem
Yes he's picking every note. That's an easy lick tho especially if you use a pull-off from 15-12 on the 1st string. It's just three notes. 15-12 on e and 15 on b strings. *edit my tab failed to indent I suggest using a pull off 15-12. That way you can speed it up to blazing fast and use it to amaze, easier. Members guitarman3001
Yeah, I play that same lick quite a bit. I usually hammer/pull-off but I can pick it for a slightly different sound. I also play a lot of variations of it that are really similar to it. Members ColoradoFenderB
Yeah, I can play that. But, so can you. Just practice it as slowly as you need to get it clean and slowly increase your speed on the lick once you master it at one speed. You will have it down in a week.
