is that the same combo that Kirk Hammett uses in his ESPs? should be fine. seriously, you can't use in those genres with EMGs.

LOL do you post on UG much? Your overall Need-advice-but-already-have-solution appearance reminds me of them. And believe me when i say "{censored} UG":wave:

Blackouts on sale for $104/pair

Me and a few others have had M123 to their 123% pricematch down to $83 with free shipping. Backordered til the end of the year tho...

Man... that's a HECK of a deal. I'm not metal anymore and I've sold all my EMG guitars, but for under $100 for EVERYTHING including pots and the battery harness... that't not a bad deal at all.

A lot of guys talk smack about the EMGs... I'm not their biggest fan, but I see a lot of positives with the EMGs not the least of which is the ability to drive pretty much any amp to distortion. They are clean and the pots seem to have a very nice taper and clean up very nicely when rolling the volume down, but the cost of installing them from scratch at normal store price... man... they're pretty expensive.

If the price range is not problem why wouldn't you at least start out with a decent guitar rather than a cheap squier? I was just wondering as that makes no sense to me, despite the fact that you are upgrading it.

stiil dont know wt to pu in it...engs, ducans, ect

I like the EMGs in my Hellraiser, but I like the Duncans in my buddies Gryphon better. They are the ones that came with it, I think they are the "designed by SD" model. They are not active so much easier for you to install and they sound great with the coil tap. The EMGs are more of a one trick pony to me, they really shine on distortion.

An Invader in the neck? Surely you jest.

I mean, it would technically work, but no good tone would come out of it.

To post pics, you need to have a photobucket or flickr account, upload the pics there, then once the pics are there, there will be a little drop down menu thing that gives 4 or 5 options of how to display them. The format you want to use is the one with tags...Sounds more complicated than it really is... if you get the free acct and upload a pic, it's easy as pie after that.

i almost pulled the trigged on that one... the HH, all-black look and price tag got my attention. i had only planned to replace the disposable tuners but instead ended up getting another sg to save myself the hassle of upgrading, don't have time for a project guitar right now.

go for duncans if you got cash burning a hole in your pocket. if it were me and the stockers were just unusable i'd go with used epiphone pups as they're cheap, sound decent and readily available on ebay.

if you think you like emgs you may be better off getting a guitar that already has them. you can replace stuff all you want but in the end it's still a one bill squier.
