Look I read the piece about paying a a&r consultant to set meetings. I don't have a problem with it. Heck I have been paying these ahole producers and studios 300 here and 500 there and where has it gotten me. NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have paid out of my pocket nearly $50,000 in 7 years trying to make it. Stupid Florida showcase,paying to get on the warped tour. Paying some has been producer $20,000. I even bought into the whole idea of buying a has been pr girl.

I was told by a client that there was a site out there where people could say really bad things about others and get away with it.

 

I find it unfair that I am being blind sided by these people.

 

Who ever wrote this for what ever reason decided not to work with me.

I am ok with that.I am a middle man that gets paid to arrange meetings.

 

I am just an alternative route some take to get to the next level.

 

I am no different then a lawyer who charges 10 percent of your contract for 10 years or a manager who charges 20 percent and 3 album cycles.

 

All these are with out promises. Since I am not a manager or a lawyer who can ride a contract for years at crazy rates. I just charge for going to work and getting you your meetings with VPs,Managers and Directors.

 

I never promise my clients but the truth. Ask a lawyer or a manager to negotiate a deal and only charge 5 percent for the life of a contract and they will laugh at you.

 

In some case I can get the ball rolling faster than the lawyer and manager combined.

 

We charge to do do our job and a small piece of your sign on bonus if a deal is reached.

 

You have no long term issue with me. If you get a lawyer he will go the same

thing I do. Call his buddies and arrange the big meeting.

 

Here is the catch. If a deal is reached he rides the contract for 5 or 6 years at 10-15 percent of the entire contract. Not saying that is unfair but what if he doesn't get you the deal. He still rides the deal or gets a huge buy out clause.

 

These lawyers are respected and they are needed. They are not doing anything wrong. They just live in the great USA and they can charge what they want.

 

I charge a little on the front to fly up and handle your issues face to face and then you come up to meet the label face to face.

 

If a deal is reached I get my 10 percent of just your signing bonus and your ties with me are over.

 

I don't get 10 percent of your much needed tour money or merchandise.

I don't get a piece of your royalties and publishing.

 

After I am done you are free to be who you are. If you haven't heard the horrible stories in this industry from named acts it will never been one told about the middle man.

 

We don't have the power to ride you for a long term deal.
