Don't judge a book by its cover..It may turn out to be a monster blues machine..I know of a very good blues guitarist here in St Louis who likes to play a B.C Rich Eagle..

I'm not sure if you could find a guitar maker who ismore metal orientated then B.C Rich...With that Eagle and using a Mesa Recto he has a very unique tone that to me is very impressive...

I myself used to cut heads with a Ibanez S540LTD pumped threw a JCM 900.

Regardless of wither you keep it or not the price was right and i'm sure you could find someone willing to trade you a guitar more to your taste for it...

Very nice! I've had a Flaxwood Rautia for several years and it's a great guitar. To be honest most of the models are pretty much the same apart from pickups and bridges so if you feel it's too much of a rock guitar, just put in your favorite lower output pickups and it should work just fine.

That guitar looks like a Ferrari to me - fast and slick. I can't believe it doesn't do other styles, are they active pickups? Love to hear some clips.:poke:

Not active. DiMarzio FRED and crunchlab.

I'm torn about the guitar. There are a couple guitars I've been gassing for that are a few hundred less than the Flaxwood. One the other hand, it's a beautiful, well-made guitar, and I'd feel a bit ungateful if I flipped it.

This. I got a great deal on a Parker Fly Mojo a few years ago and flipped for a great profit because I didn't think it was for me. Now, I wish I would've given it a second chance -- it was a helluva a player.

Regardless - woo hoo!

I wouldn't feel that way for an instant! It's a cool guitar, but maybe just not you. I sign up for contests all the time where I know that in the event I won whatever it is, I'd end up selling it. If you don't bond with it, get it to someone who will. Win-win!

Congrats!

I say, whats all the metal business on the back? Also, is that just finish on the headstock there, or is it made from something crazy.

This thing looks futuristic. Congrats though, it's a nice one.

Definitely keep it for a bit, if you don't like it you have many options.

The guitar is made from a wood composite, so the headstock shows the more "raw" composite.

The guitar is semi-hollow, and the backplate is a Flaxwood resonating backplate.

It definitely embraces some new technologies.

Congrats on the win. That's so cool. I remember a thread a while ago about nobody on here ever winning one of those giveaways.

That looks cool. I'd definitely play it for a while. You can play any style on any guitar. If it's comfortable and makes you want to play it, it's a keeper. If you look at it and think, 'nah,' then move it out and get one of the nice guitars on the gas list.

lather, rinse, repeat
