Aboslutely. They send you a fraudulent check, overpay you on purpose, have you pay them the difference in cash or something and they get your gear and some of your money. Or something like that anyway. Either way when it comes time to settle up the fake check it's out of your pocket. Sometimes they just scam your financial information from you. Members cratz2 Posted December 22, 2010 Members Share Posted December 22, 2010 I rarely look beyond musical instruments, bicycles and camera equipment on craigalist but I've been looking for a UTV... one of those things that's like a quad and a golf cart had a baby. Anyway, pretty much every one of those that it less than 80% of the price, when you send an email asking about it, you get a response that the guy was just deployed to Iraq and his wife needs to raise some funds and would be glad to ship the quad from Florida or wherever. Went through this about 5 times. Last one said he was in Lake City, but searching around, the ad was only listed on the Indianapolis craigslist. I replied that I was still very interested and I got another response from a real person. Then I said I noticed that they lived in Lake City and that I would be traveling to the Steel Dynamics plant with my wife in the next month and I never got another response. He offered the guy about half of what he was asking and the guy bit. I've never seen anything like it; stereo, back seat, frickin aluminum rims and even had neon lights under it. It's the ultimate in ridiculous, but it was actually pretty handy for hauling us and a bunch of crap up and down the hill to his gun range. I did have one of those surreal moments though sitting there with all of us there, eating crabs in our bathing suits, most of us fat as crap and that thing sitting there with a .50 cal sitting in the back.
