Micro-Cube With a Bass = ??? // Not the RX Bass version, the little one!

Hi!

I have a friend who wants to give her boyfriend an amp for Christmas...

She doesn't have a lot of money... She is currently unemployed... She can't afford the Micro-Cube RX for Bass.

Her boyfriend plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar and (electric) bass. He plays bass more.

He doesn't even have an amp, right now and live in an appartment.

Would a little Micro-Cube sound good with a bass? Could it get damaged?

(I've read somewhere that the speaker is more like a car speaker than a guitar amp speaker. If that's the case, it should handle a bass at low volume, I think???)

The Microcube is a great little amp, but I doubt it would sound very good with a bass (unless he's using headphones). For around the same price, I would go for one of these:

I wish she could find a used Micro-Cube RX Bass! As a plus, I read that it sounds good with a guitar and could use it with batteries...

I haven't seen any used in my area and my friend came to me with that only today!
