Members JimboJ
His website is a little confusing. Here's the deal:1) He has several hundred video lessons, most of which are for subscribers. For instance, go to Video Lessons/Beginner Lessons/100-150, and click on any lesson. You'll get a screen that says "Premium Users Only", which means only subscribers can view it. Subscribers pay $29.99/month, $75/3 months, or $139/year.2) He sells a lesson DVD for $99. It contains the first 75-100 video lessons. 3) There's also a section called "Free Videos", which currently contains 42 vids. These are the videos he uses to advertise his site. Lots of them are very cool, and they give you a good idea of Mr. Taub's teaching style and ability. Most of these vids can also be seen on YouTube.4) He also sells song lesson DVD's. Each of these is a couple hours long, and he walks you through every part of the song. These lessons are really wonderful, IMO, and they are ONLY available on DVD. I suppose I should mention that I'm not affiliated with NextLevelGuitar.com in any way. I recently parted ways with my teacher, and did all of this research because I intend to join.6mmSid Thanks, that was most helpful. He could use your description as an overview of his website. Members SamsDaddy
Let's not forget about Justin Sandercoe's website full of lots of free lessons and song breakdowns. He has a nicely structured beginner course. All of his lessons are very well done. Check him out if you haven't seen him already. Between Justin, NextLevelGuitar, and various other Youtube players, I have learned a ton of stuff. No reason not to check out every available resource. http://www.justinguitar.com

I've learned a lot from him, as well as BHH on his site Threechordguitar.com I just started with David's techniques and think his site is a lot more structured for the complete beginner, which I was at the time. I get on Justin's site at least twice a week. His warm up exercises and "finger gym" techniques are

That's a great idea!! I just bought and downloaded an Eric Johnson lesson. I'll see if I can do it. I appreciate you posting about that, otherwise I might not have ever heard of it. Members scolfax
Happy to help! Yeah, I like GuitarInstructor a lot, although I did have some troubles with the Windows DRM at first. I'm also not sure if it's Mac-friendly. Tom Kolb has some great lessons on there - one of his $2 lessons taught me more than I got from one of my 1-hour in-person lessons at $60 a pop! Members Monkeywork
Workshoplive.com also has a pay as ya go deal. Plus we have a curriculum that actually builds the skills. I prefer that as opposed to wandering around YouTube and not actually learning the guitar. Try WorkshopLive out for a week to see the difference that animated music, a player that can slow the tempo down and a full curriculum of music can make. workshoplive.com/playfree
