Members Elias Graves
I experiment with strings a lot. Most strings out there, I can turn into nasty black gunk in three weeks so I'm always looking for something that lasts. Tried the Elixirs and whatnot but didn't care for the feel. The longest lasting strings I had ever used were Markley Blue Steel. I can get about 8 weeks' use out of those. Put on a set of the new Helix HD strings about three months ago and they are still going strong. Not quite as shiny as they were new but no real signs of tarnish. The best thing is that they still sound good! I can still hear the new string "bell tone" even after all this time. Give em a try if you burn through strings too fast. These last a good long time. Members billybilly
Ya, I just googled them. I'll give them a try. Thanks I usually use Elixirs and they last but there has always a bit of that sparkle missing.
Members Beckman
Huh. I can usually get 3 months+ out of any strings. Sometimes more. They get a little tarnish at the frets, but they still sound good to me. I like the feel of older broke in strings. I know this will not be a popular opinion. I wish I could but my chemistry must be weird. I once strung up my acoustic with a set of cheap Musician's Gear strings. They were tarnished after one session. Never use those again.
