Members sp12
So despite plenty experience playing live i have only recently started doing my own mixing. That being said i have good monitors for mixing but i do need some headphones. Without further blahblah...what's good under $100 or close to it Thanks:thu:

Members sp12
actually.. let me rephrase hd 280's or the sony MDR 7506? what are the differences?
Members Beyer160
Never used the Sonys, but the HD280s are nice cans- they're a little exaggerated on the top end, but not too bad once you get used to it. They also provide a good amount of isolation. In genera,l headphones are good for spot checks and tracking but mixing exclusively on them isn't a good idea. Members Special J
I use the Sonys. Great cans. Decent isolation. Reasonably flat response, with maybe just a slight bump on the top and bottom. Good for reference though. I've found them to be pretty rugged. I use them a lot for live mixing reference, so they get pretty beat up and keep working great. I wish they had easily replaceable cables.
Members ashasha
I'm into the Sennheiser HD205's. They can be found in the $60 range and compare pretty favorably to my HD-25-1's which are about 4X as expensive.
Members sp12
So i'm not going to use them exclusively for mixing, i mostly need a way to play and make my music at night without waking everybody in the house. So far the hd 280's sound a tad more appealing

Those do look pretty damn good, and killer price too
