Some jangle between GFS and TV Jones

I want to get something like Gretsch filtrons to put in my hollow body Ibanez AF-95. You guys know it all, so please share. Any good pups to get that Gretsch sound that is in the Goldilocks mid price range? Don't feel like spending $200 a pickup..... I'd buy a Gretsch, but I already have too many guitars anyway, and I think it is probably the pickups that make the major difference, right? I had a 59 double anniversary for 35 years too, so I think I am familiar with the sound. Never did like the control layout, but that's another subject!

Thanks in advance etc etc

Here's another vote for Gretsch pickups. You can buy them on ebay for about $50 each. There's a guy named Riley or Ripley on the Gretsch forums that makes English mount adapter kits that allow you to use Fiiltertrons with a standard humbucker ring. I think the mounts are about $20 for the set. If you really want to do it right, buy a set of Gibson style mounting bezels from TV Jones for $5 each. So including shipping, the total price of genuine Gretsch pickups is about $70 - $75 each.

I did it for my Ibanez AM73B.

how are you liking the filtertrons in that Artcore vs the Pure 90's? :cop:

The Pure 90s are great. But I'm using a set of Gibson P90s in my Les Paul so I have my bases covered. I'm still getting used to the Filtertrons. They are very clear sounding pickups that pack a mighty punch for low output pickups. I like them quite a bit and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
