I like some weight to my guitars, so thats a good thing. I just like the looks of the Washburn, and I have played Dots, Sheratons, Ibanez stuff, and this one just seems like it would be a little better.

Check e-Bay or the Washburn forum for an 80s-era HB-35. A lot of them were made by Matsumoku. Mine is a 1984 and with a pickup and wiring upgrade is a hella nice axe. I got mine for $350 in 2001, they still go for around $500. It's got some heft to it (sycamore/maple construction), but I wouldn't put it in the Norlin LP weight class.

I've got a '92 MIK natural finish and it's a great guitar. My only complaint is that the stock neck pickup is a little too dark and muddy for my tastes so I replaced it with a 'Humbucker From Hell' and that made a world of difference.

I've owned mine, and played it for 4-5 years. Great guitar!

Me too.

Loved that guitar. IMHO, one of the nicest extremely well to upgrades.

Another satisfied HB35 owner. Made in China, but excellent workmanship, no finish flaws except for a couple of black dust specks, but you have to know where to look!
