So are you asking for actual clips of him playing or clips of us butchering the {censored} out of it?

The one that sticks out in my head as a personal favorite is the bridge/solo rhythm to seek and destroy. One of my favorites to play.

Master of Puppets and Battery are probably my actual 1 and 2 on the list, but I still can't get my downpicking good enough to pull MOP off; I wuss out and alternate pick/ruin it.

The thing that always impressed me most about Metallica was when they operated like a machine. Usually the last couple tracks of each album. Damage Inc, Dyer's

Eve... stuff like that and Battery, the end of One... Good stuff.

But yeah man... say what you want about Metallica or James, but they had some absolutely top notch tight rhythm stuff going on.

James is the best rhythm player in metal..IMO his riffs and strumming skills rivals the skill level of most lead players. As you can tell im a huge fan, he's a major influence of mine. I also sing lead and play rhythm in a metal band, to play busy riffs and sing good melodies in key is a tough proposition, and his riffs and melodies are rediclous. Also, when he takes an occasional solo, he makes it count...the first solo on "Master" is a short melodic masterpice. Great riffing and songwriting abilities. Metallica's good stuff is always clever. If i had to pick a "moment"..well there is just too many....pick any riff from KEA to AJFA! James rulz FTW!

he is an amazing rhythm player, but i reckon some of my favorite metallica solo's have been his, he follows the songs a lot closer than Kirk does and his note selection is almost always perfect. Never over done, but never too simple either. I think it's common knowledge that his rhythm playing is amazing, but it's his lead work that is under rated.
