one last try on pickups

Peavey Predator Plus with stoptail/string thru bridge. Basswood body. Maple neck and Rosewood board.

 

Looking for classic rock, even some country and blues sound. Nothing to distorted by itself, but can overdrive if the song needs it. Good cleans and crunch.

 

I am not a shred type guy. Will play more of the old Les Paul. SG type parts.

 

Any good suggestions for PUs to fit that desire.

H/H setup. Splittableas of now. Would be good to keep that option for onstage instead of swapping guitars for songs as often.

If you are looking at pickups I make, I'd look at either my Lizards or Smokes. They both fit your bill very well. The Lizards are full on vintage paf styled pickups and the Smokes are are a vintage/modern hybrid.

The control set up is oine volume and one tone with a pull tone control to split the coils of both pick ups. does this make a difference in which of your (nor-cal) pickups are applicable?

+1 on that, always been happy with Bryan's work. I also have a Peavey Predator Plus (HSS) that I put a used DiMarzio SuperDistortion in and I've been pretty pleased with the results.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm wondering if a Fender neck will fit on the Predator Plus. Obviously, I'm not asking you to take your neck off to try it, just wondering if there was any obvious impediment using the eyeball test.

My guess is yes. But that's pretty much under the assumption that most bolt-ons have a Strat shaped neck heel and pocket. I could be very wrong.

Sorry, didn't see this question. The older ones, I am not sure about, but the new Predator Plus has a very different bolt on pattern. Drilling the wholes nay not line up with the length of the neck heel. Need to check it out.

Have a look at the range of humbuckers that Anderson make. They make incredible pickups and I think the HC series is what you're after.
