Members offbyone
im thinking about putting a rio grande BBQ bucker in the bridge of my fender classic players HH jag. right now i have a dimarzio super distortion in it, which sounds really good, but i like to experiment. in another jag i own i have a gibson 498t which sounds wonderful, so i guess i would be comparing it to that. ive heard a lot of good buzz about the bbq buckers and a few guitarists from bands that i try to achieve similar tones as use it (dave grohl foo fighters, derek whibley sum 41 and kris roe the ataris) does anyone have any experience with these pickups? Members jimtalkbox
I used to have a BBQ set in an old Epi Les Paul. They were good, medium high-ish output, sort of dark tone. They would excel in the styles of music you mentioned.
Members Deadbeat Son
I have a BBQ bucker in my Gibson SG, and had it in an Epi LP previous to that. It's a great pickup that just sounds right to me. I play punk rock, and really dig the BBQ for that type of music. I don't have any experience with it in a Fender guitar though. I do have a Tele project that is currently under construction. When it's done, it will have a Rio Grande Original Texas Humbucker.
