Members kit_strong
I'm likely never to crank my Electra Dyne up high enough to achieve power tube saturation so instead I rely on the , still very tasty, preamp gain stages. My question is should I be putting modulation effect in the FX loop or in front of the amp?

Normally they go in the FX loop, but I find my EVH Phase 90 sounds better in front of the amp than it does in the loop. Basically, try them both ways and go with what sounds best. Members BIGD
Delay can sound decent through mild preamp distortion, through mid to high gain it becomes a one trick noise maker pony, so effects loop is the way to go.
