Members steve_man
Okay, if you had to pick from these tuner pedals, which would it be...and why? 1. Korg Pitchblack 2. Boss TU-3 3. TC Polytune 4. Planet Waves PW-CT-04 5. Turbo-tuner 6. Strobostomp
Members Baddass
I have 2 Boss tu -70's tuners. Paid about 10 bucks apiece for em. Have had one since they first came out ,things been dropped about 1000 times and still works great.
Members the_bleeding
polytune or turbo tuner. Reason 1. Polytune is convenient, looks cool, super cheap, more accurate than everything in there except the turbotune and the peterson. reason 2. Turbo tuner is very accurate, and is 80$ less than the strobostomp, and faster than the strobostomp. Planetwaves, pitchblack, and TU-3 are all less accurate. Peterson is overpriced for a tuner. So yeah, theres my assessment from published data sheets.
Members CoqBelliqueux
Korg might be ugly, but it's small, cheap and seems to work well. And you can get it from the wall at the store! I'm soooo getting one.

Members strtdv
If you had said the pitchblack + I probably would have voted for it. The pitchblack isn't a strobe tuner, and is no more accurate than any other digital non-strobe tuner. I even have a clip on tuner that is as accurate as it. Members dparr
I tried a bunch of tuners $100 and under with my Chapman Stick. I walked out with the Korg CA-30. It worked smoothly on both the low and the high notes. Many of the others costing MUCH more failed that test.
Members docjeffrey
I love the idea of the Polytune, but I can tell exactly which strings are going to need attention when I'm on stage. Mostly the G, sometimes the B, and very seldom anything else, unless I'm whanging too hard on my wank shaft.

Members docjeffrey
By the way, we have one of those Planet Waves tuners at our church, and it is NOT very accurate. Once you hit the green, you can continue to tune the note up and it will not move sharp into the red unless you go over 1 to 2 cents. The Pitch Black is good for a stage tuner. I use a Peterson Strobe software tuner on my Mac when I'm setting up my guitars. I got mine for free (gift from an unnamed movie studio just off of Barham Bl. in Burbank). I think that it's a pretty pricey plugin.
Members walrus1
Turbo tuner rules them all. Faster than peterson, more accurate than the non-strobes. It's the best tuner out of all of those, imo.

Members walrus1
wrong..the only one that is accurate is the strobe.. whats fast got to do with being in tune.? Turbo tuner IS a strobe tuner. Fast has a lot to being in tune, besides being more convenient. Namely, that it adds to the accuracy.
Members Dave Owens
I read what they say about that POS..it not accurate at all compared to a peterson or a conn. and NO fast , has got nothing to do with it. buy something that works.. http://www.petersontuners.com/index.cfm?category=85?=89 Peterson Tuner -A Peterson Strobe can accurately display any tone within its range to within 1/1000th of a semitone Turbo Tuner -Extreme accuracy:

Members walrus1
Strobe tuners (the popular term for stroboscopic tuners) are the most accurate type of tuner. There are three types of strobe tuners: The mechanical rotating disk strobe tuner, an LED array strobe in place of the rotating disk, and "virtual strobe" tuners with LCD displays or ones that work on personal computers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_tuner#Strobe_tuners

Members mdog114
The Peterson can't keep up. I've got 2 Petersons and I used to have a real old Conn. The Turbo is also a real nice unit, if my pedal models fails I'd likely try that one next.
