Members GAS Man
I would talk about the initial development of the guitar, "the log", early Gibsons, Fenders, etc. The other aspect that's important is what it meant to music. The electric guitar is said to have put a lot of horn players out of business. Guitar was present in the Big Band era, but at that time it was regarded more as a percussive instrument since mostly the "chunk chunka chunk, chunka chunk, chunka chunk" could be heard in the mix. You could also talk about the development of amps that were loud enough, developed by folks like Leo Fender for folks like Dick Dale. Also the development of reverb, Chet Atkins contributions, those by Les Paul of layered sound, etc. There's plenty for a class report.
