Members stormin1155
I have one, and it is one of my favorite guitars. One of Fender's best kept secrets IMO. I'm not sure why they stopped making them. There are usually several on eBay with buy-it-now prices in the $500 range, but if you wait you should be able to pick up a used one in the $350 range. There are three levels of Showmasters. US made custom shop ones go for as high as $2K, the one I have is Korean made. They also have a Squire model that I've not heard anything good about... I'd avoid that one. Here's mine:
Members sk8centilli
I've got their cousin - Korean made Fender Esquire Custom GT (from the same line). Although it's not played as often as some of my others, it is commonly referred to as my #1. I had it refinished to a natural finish and was pleased to find a nice center-seamed two piece body with a one piece neck; the Esquires are mahogany and the Strats are, IIRC, basswood. Phenomenal guitars. Here's a pic from the day I brought it home after having it refinished.

Members Lonnie99
I had a Gold Top identical to the one above. Stole in on CL for $200. Squier made a variety of Stagemasters, one of which was a setneck monster of a guitar with a really nice Floyd copy. IMO they're right on par with the good Ibanez and Schecter setneck, HH guitars which can be had far cheaper. I just today picked up a Schecter Blackjack with the dual SD pickups for $200 with a hardcase on CL.
Members crashclc
I have a tobacco burst quilt top MIK Showmaster (pix on my gp page) and it is one of my favorites. The genuine Seymour-Duncan humbuckers have some real snarl and the 24 fret set neck is just amazing. Definitely a well kept secret.
Members Ultrastick
I have the Korean one I bought brand new on Ebay a couple of years ago. I bought the Korean Fender Tele FMT at the same time. Both were immaculate, played great and had great pickups. I love them and they are never leaving. Only niggle is the trem arm on the Showmaster rocks a little due to too much play in the screw threads. Been meaning to use some teflon tape but haven't gotten around to it. Members cale76
I just got the Telecaster version, same awesome gold finish, dimarzio pickups, amazing guitar. I've got two other American teles and I think this Korean goldtop might be my favorite.
