I've always thought that Raven West Guitars were beautiful. ...yes, I know, I like blingy guitars. The other day I was cruising around the web and ended up on their website, and before you could say Holy Abalone Batman! I had ordered this. So far, a big thumbs up. It came fairly well set up, no blemishes that I could find (even though it was sold as a blem), nice neck, decent hardware, and oh the bling! Blue pearl abalone trim around everything, and the fret markers, ebony board. I'm still not sure about the pickups... they are a little dark, but I'll keep them in for now. The thing that I'm most impressed with is the sustain... it just sings forever. Weighs about 9 pounds I'd guess.

Oh, and you know how a lot of guitars are shipped with those cheap, good for nothing cords? Well, they sent a real nice one along with this.

Well, on to the pictures.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS! The picture of your guitar had me running to the website to check them out. I was shocked at those low prices and was reaching for my credit card. Those guitars are really something! I'm a Gibson guy, and usually don't like the headstocks of copies...but I think these are beautiful!

How does it play? What does it weigh? Is the neck comparable in thickness to a Gibson? how about those pickups?

Many questions. I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on one of these beauties.

Thanks to all for your compliments.

The guitar plays great. Has enough 'chunk' to the neck, without being bulky... very comparable to a LP Standard Traditional. Frets are nicely finished and even set up with fairly low action I'm not finding significant buzzes or dead spots. It has some heft to it, but not overly heavy.... about 9 pounds I'd guess... very nice balance and feel overall. Great sustain on this guitar! I'm not crazy about the pickups... not bad, but a bit on the dark side for me.
