Members Kerouac
***IMPORTANT! GFS is aware of the issues and I'm waiting to hear back from them about receiving a replacement. Still, I've ordered from them several times before and am shocked at how poor the QC on this is. Please no bashing, name-calling, or childish super-dickery.*
Members Kerouac
Pt. 2: The worn neck edges and the swirls were hardest to capture. The strangest thing about the fretmarks is that some frets look fine and some look like they're off a Roadworn!
Members deafinoneear
I'm sorry it's not to so happy for you, but I see this a lot and I don't understand what people expect in a bargain import guitar. How much did you pay for this? I mean, I don't see anything there that renders this unplayable, with the exception of what appears to be two frets that are of a different height(?). While there are blemishes, you're getting a guitar that is the cheapest of the cheap... how high can it's standards possibly be, enough for you to come online and post pictures of it for the world to see (which, no matter how you phrase it, is either bashing or a threat to their image) instead of just contacting them and letting them handle the situation. You're getting incredible value for your money that would be unheard of 20, even 15 years ago, despite a few scratches and cracks.
Members TraumaRN
The little dings don't really matter. The gap in the neck pocket makes it completely unacceptable in my book.
Members Woody_in_MN
K - I'm w/ you. Unless something was listed as B stock - I would not put up with it. If something, anything is sold as new - that is what I expect. No blems, scratches, cracks. I would get you a Lamb Chop rating, but she is whimpering under the bed. I've purchased several instruments from GFS before and have previously recommended them to students who need an affordable and playable alternative. Prior instruments had none of these issues and your argument about price is ridiculous. I ordered a product (I actually used to own this exact model in Seafoam) that I was familiar with and got a what was pictured above. (This was a gift from my mum, BTW... who was really disappointed in how it turned out.) I've recommended Xaviere to students many times before and imagine how disappointing it would be for a kid with his first guitar! Jay and Co. are going to make it right and when they do I'll post pics of that as well. It works both ways.

Members pilon
Was that one of the recent GFS blem blow outs (I hope)? If not doesnt matter what you paid that is unacceptable! At any pricepoint that is crappy workmanship, and shouldnt have passed QC.

At any pricepoint that is crappy workmanship, and shouldnt have passed QC. Not a blem. As for the money amount, I have a pretty big collection with expensive pieces and not so expensive ones... my old XV filled a niche perfectly and I shouldn't have gotten rid of it. I know that Jay and Dave will make it right, though.
Members pilon
Jay has a great reputation for making good on customer problems, but it seems as though a bit of slightly higher QC would be in order to prevent guitars such as that slipping through. "my $150 guitar has some surface paint swirls!! what is this??" i mean really, I have a $110 SX that doesn't have those issues. Should I aim in-between $111 and $174 when buying instruments? Sorry, but when you buy an instrument you expect it to be in good condition. I can accept some finish flaws or some excess pickguard material, but when you combine that with bad fretwork, gaps in the neck pocket, and an improperly cut nut it's a different story. My other Xaviere's did/do. Again, I understand that this is not a boutique or high end model and I'm not unreasonable about flaws. But this PARTICULAR guitar is not in acceptable condition.
