I just purchased this used (semi hollow body) guitar and I think it sounds better IMO than anything in it's price range. ($650 new)

John Mann http://www.gbase.com/stores/john-manns-guitar-vault a PRS distributer, the guy that designed Santana's 1st PRS and was with Paul from the initial decision, "Should I start making my own guitars?" is the guy I bought this one for $400 and for $75 extra he installed a nice solid sounding push pull switch to make the pick ups singles. He also only charged me $15 shipping!

I have an American Strat and the PRS singles sound close to it but a little beefer not quite a P-90. I run the guitar through a modded Deluxe Reverb with a Jenson type Magnavox P12N 1956 year, A very smooth warm well balanced speaker not as loud as the stock Jenson C12K or The weber 150 F I sold off last. I cannot be happier with the tone and the great build of the PRS.

I tried out a PRS SE soap bar my friend has and could not believe how great it was for the money. On my gutar you do not loose clarity when you lower the volume, John Mann is going to tell me how to Mod my strat to do the same. I'm just waiting for his email.

Just a trebble bleed or what Fender calls a grease bucket tone circuit.
