Members BG76
Just picked this up for a cool $400.00 1949 Fender Deluxe. Man, this thing sounds great - picture a rounder sounding and slightly more polite tweed Deluxe and you'll get the picture. Haven't had the chance to crank it yet but it sounds amazing. Here are some pic with my Broadcaster.
Members Tweedledee
$400?!? Are you serious? Even in that poor cosmetic shape, if everything works that's a steal. Congrats! I would love to hear some clips if you get a chance to record a few.

Yeah, it's like I always say here - don't waste your money on low end junk when you can spend the same (or less) and get something cool that will last forever. This one was on ebay - I was the only bidder. It shipped yesterday, came today (a tube was broken of course ) but I had a set of JJ 6v6s from my tweed deluxe (56) that were fine - I had replaced them thinking there was a prob but it was a loose solder joint).I'll post some clips - it is just full and clean and warm down low - kind of compressed. Sounds really pretty for clean stuff.

Members GuitarSlim101
Very nice. My main amp is a 5E3 clone I built a couple years ago, but I'd love to get an old Deluxe some day. I dig the way it looks, too. It'd match my old Dano Convertible.

Members Furtive
$400? I know you get deals, but you gotta be kidding me. Congratulations on a great score.
Members cratz2
Sorry mate... it's nowhere near as versatile as a Mustang II, a Super Champ XD or a Valvetronix. I say throw it in the trash. Hopefully my trash!
Members guitarcapo
Does it need a cap job? grounded AC cord?
Members BG76
It needs a cord. The caps are fine. It's not humming or anything but I'm going to keep my eyes on them. This one was on ebay - nobody else even bid. Bought it yesterday arrived today. The 6v6s fell out and broke but I had a set of JJs, so I'm not even going to bother complaining.
