Members skdmrklcy
Well I didn't care for the nut on the ESP/LTD 401VF as well as a few other minor things so it went back. I had been eying this Telecaster the past few visits to GC and it finally followed me home. It is a Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster in Olympic White with Mint pick guard. I was able to trade the bag back in for a nice poly-foam case for the same money. I was able to get it for 480 (Creative Coupon and Clearance Item.) I am really happy with it to this point! I plan to change the pickups at some point but not anytime soon. Who knows it may just stay stock.

Members Woody_in_MN
I like it. White on White. Lamb Chop likes it too - matches her color. HNGD. 3 paws up from Lamb Chop.
Members theManfromAlabam
That is a good deal! How do you like the vintage style frets?
Members skdmrklcy
The action is a little high right now, I am thinking I am going to drop it off for a setup at the local shop. Since it is a 60s it has the truss rod in the heel of the neck so I have to actually take it off and I am not super comfortable with that right now. It does seem like the bridge may be up a bit as well but I am not sure so I would rather have it looked at by a tech. It feels fine overall though as far as the frets go. It is a thinner neck but I can handle it better than some other Fender necks. It also doesn't have sharp fret ends like every other Tele and Strat I looked at. I really like the vintage bridge and the feel of the neck, even not setup at this point.

Its Mint on White! Though I am thinking it may go White on White or maybe Blue on White... so many options.. That must be why some people have multiple Teles and Strats... Pick Guard and Body Color. Members Alecto
It also doesn't have sharp fret ends like every other Tele and Strat I looked at. That's more a function of the store's lack of proper storage and humidity than anything wrong with the guitar. But yeah, sharp fret ends are no fun to deal with, especially on a guitar you want to take home.
Members fiveoclockhero
I was wondering which guitar you'd land on. I'm really impressed! If I were given the same options, I would have done the same thing. I love that color and I love Tele's and, frankly, that particular model should have cost you more so you got quite a bargain. Very nice! Congrats!

Very nice! Congrats! Thanks! I was also wondering.... I am a very indecisive shopper with guitars it seems. I am very happy with this one, going to call today to see how long it will take the local shop to do a setup on her. I was thinking about trying it myself but I am worried if I take the neck off or loosen it I won't be able to get it back on for some reason.... Members skdmrklcy
I dropped it off at the doctor last night! I should be able to pick it up today, I can't wait to pick it up. They said the neck need a little adjustment but that it is just really dry. They will do a basic setup and recommend I humidify it for a bit then they will take a look again in a week or so. I did go ahead and order the Fender SKB Hard case like the one that comes with the American Standards, I got it on sale and used a Christmas gift card. If I take back the poly-foam case I will be out no cash. I may just keep it though to take with to lessons, and I can use it on any electric I get in the future.
