Members AlexMC
Because I generally make my neckpocket parallel to the guitar's back and take the angle in the tennon. If you want to leave the Tennon parallel and take the angle in the pocket, just shim up the body (make a board, with a fixed shim that the body will sit on holding it at the correct angle and no matter how you move it around on the drill press table you are always at the required angle and your depth stop still works.AJC NOT having any woodworking or luthering skills, I was kinda wondering why the pocket had to be angled rather than the tenon, which would seem an easier job! I wish I had access to these tools... would really like to build a body myself one day.

Members deafinoneear
Thanks for all the really kind words, guys! nice, i cant wait to see the finish. What pickups are you putting in? Right now I've just got some cheapo's I bought off Fatdog a year or so ago. They were on the SG clone you saw on the first page. Funny thing is this project was supposed to be a quick, slap-it-together project to get the stuff out of the SG clone and onto something that wasn't plywood, and now it's just taken on a whole other life of it's own. Not to say I'm not excited about it, and not that it's not gonna be kick ass, but sometimes I let my imagination run a little too free. ... .... And then my hands start following, which really gets me into trouble! :poke:

Members deafinoneear
So I decided to scallop my fingerboard. What do you think?
Members Beckman
Wow. I remember this thread. I wondered what happened. Took a bit of a break huh? I am not a fan of scalloped necks, but I thought they usually scallop between the frets. It looks like you are randomly scalloping.

Members Brewski
Super Nice dude!! - don't worry about the gap - fill it in as long as the wood is holding it doesn't matter. Recommend natural binding ala PRS/Schecter as it's criminal to put anything plastic on that beauty!! I like arched tops so arch it!! and I'd also order all wood knobs. I am also a big fan of inlays and since its your guitar it'll never be Cheese-Dick at all!! Stake your claim, use your woods and materials and go!! you already have the inlays and anything on the guitar is yours so AWESOME!!
Members MahaloVision
I want a mill Don't we all? I've had gas for a mill/drill (X3, SX3, or G0704 type) and a 9" or bigger lathe to go with it for a long time. Jig making would be a hell of a lot better than what I'm able to do now with a drill press and a cross slide vise.
