Members Squier Fat Telecaster
I love my Jet City 20 watt combo. It really sounda swesome with my Telecaster. Can get some great dynamic range with clean to mean. Humbuckers it is hard to get a good clean-ish tone, it's gonna be gritty and driven.
Members awd83
I will say that the "333" logo looks like something from Walmart, though... Walmart, you say? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Jet-City-Amplification-JCA20H-Guitar-Tube-Amplifier-Head/15048468
Members Yarbicus
I just picked up the JCA20H and I really love this little head. I have gotten some great tones out of it. I did notice one thing though. If I have the gain and master set to max and I increase the presence past 8 the amp squeals. I can drop the master back to mid way and increase the presence to full, but as soon as I increase the master again it squeals again. This happens with, or without a guitar plugged into it. Is this typical? Do they all do this? I have a full set of JJ's in it, and the problem happened with both the original set and the new set. Doesn't seem that the head should do this. You have the gain and master at full? Frankly, I would expect some squeel! The presence is a pretty dynamic control so getting everything maxed like that is bound to cause some noise. Even so, I bet a tube swap will take care of a lot of it.
Members Squier Fat Telecaster
I leave Presence off or at the most 3. It sounds like Screaming Bees turned up.
Members Euronimous
I am asking is if your head does the same thing. I did swap the tubes. I have many sets of tubes and have tried many combinations. I love the amp. I just want to know if what it is doing happens to all of them. If a few of you guys would try and repeat what I said in my previous post and let me know what they find I would be very thankful. It would save me from making a long trip to a music store just to see if they all do it. Thanks!
