Members RVIVR
I realize this is a pretty specialized question... so, if anyone out there can offer any sort of advice, I'd be very appreciative. Basically, I'm looking at a Fender Band Master on Craigslist, but I won't be able to play it til I'm back in Naples. It's a '64 model, blonde tolex with tan grill, and I've been wanting one of these for a very long time after having seen one of my favorite bands using it. I used to have a Bassman (piggyback, not the 4x10 I have now) but I found it was a bit too muddy for my liking, and I hear the Band Master has a smoother overdrive. However, I hear that "oomph" is a bit of an issue with the overdrive, depending on how booming you like it. Theoretically speaking, dealing with an amp that has scooped mids like that, if you wanted to give it some more "oomph" so to speak, then wouldn't using a humbucker-equipped guitar such as a Les Paul do the trick, as opposed to, say, my Telecaster? That's not to say I'm getting rid of her, because I love her too much, but I'm actually looking at a mini-humbucker equipped Les Paul Deluxe as well, and I'm hoping they'll compliment each other well... I worry too much.
