Members awd83
My first Agile, AL-2000 HSBF. Just got it and took a picture. Sorry for the crappy iphone pic, I'll get my DSLR out in a few days for some good ones. Pretty nice finish, haven't seen any blemishes yet, good flame. Looks to be an actual maple cap instead of just a veneer, but I'm probably wrong. Very first impressions: Tiny frets, seem filed, no sharp ends, need polishingNot quite as loud acoustically as my Dean SolteroColor is a little darker than Rondo picsseems well put together, straight neck, no fret buzz, pretty nice action right out of the boxEGC-300 case is pretty niceHeavy, but I don't think it's as heavy as my Dean, but I'm still at work, have to do a A/B later
Members DaleH
HNGD looks great, ya a little darker than the site photo's.
Members awd83
it's not quite as dark as that picture shows, the iphone along with poor lighting makes it look much darker. I think I would have preferred more yellow to it, but it's actually a little better looking than I expected. The only thing I see to be done to it, is maybe polish the frets a little...any info on what to use and such?
Members maxnew40
Get some Eagle never dull to polish the frets, you will never think of using steel wool again. If you like the AL-2000, you should try one of the higher end models like the AL-3100. I think the price difference is worth it. Max
Members JoeBoy
HNGD. Agiles are great bang for the buck. I had one stolen and had to sell the other.

Members smorgdonkey
NeverDull is the greatest for frets. But for those who ant better 'bang for the buck' you can get Almost NeverDull. I mean, who needs to get the best product available when Almost NeverDull looks just as good except when the dullness actually happens?

Members awd83
Well I just noticed that there is a long (1.5 inches) deep crack in the finish at where the two pieces of neck join at the tenon. I dont mind the crack if it never spreads or flakes off, but I'm afraid that it might. Should I return it? I'm also afraid I won't get another one with as good of a flame. But, they are good about returns. That may be an option if you are willing to wait longer.

Members awd83
Thanks. Kurt offered me $40 back if I decide to keep it. It's a hard decision. I have very little patience, so waiting another couple of weeks!
Members ArticStrat
Happy NGD. I have an AL-3200 in my near future. Reviews of these guitars are pretty darn good. Always been a Strat man, but want to try one of these. Can't go wrong for the money.
Members awd83
I would say the quality of this guitar is probably pretty close to my $650 Dean Soltero. Although the Dean doesn't have a flaw as bad as the cracked finish on the agile, the Dean has a higher quantity of flaws. The only things I've found wrong with this guitar so far is the crack, and that the frets need to be polished. The Dean has a couple of spots of black paint under the clearcoat on the exposed maple binding, the pups don't line up properly under the strings. There's less touchup work needed on the inlays on the agile, but considering how intricately detailed and oddly shaped the inlays are on my Soltero, I'll let that slide - you're comparing trapezoids to swirly eye looking shapes. They are both heavy, exact same weight, actually, 9.8 lbs, but the agile feels lighter. The pups sound a little thinner than the ones on my Soltero, but are definitely clearer sounding, probably due to have the pole pieces lining up right, but the soltero is a little muddy sounding, especially not being able to really hear the high strings ringing out. So far Kurt has been top notch answering my concerns and everything. I highly recommend them even though mine didn't come perfect!

The high E isn't even over the top of it's pole, and you can't hear it, sounded logical to me. Maybe it's just the pups themselves. They crunch up pretty good, but no real note definition, which the agile has plenty of.
