Members Dinosaur Sr.
I checked out a couple of the Classic Vibe guitars a while ago, and they seemed really solid for the price tag. I'm wondering if that is still the case, or if the quality has diminished since they came out. Any any recommendations from that series in particular? Always played Strats, can't decide whether to stay with 'em or switch it up a bit.
Members Jarick
Worth it and more IMO, quality instruments.

Members billybilly
Try one of their tele's out. Very good and something different for you.
Members richey888
I have had four since they came out, still have two and gig them on a regular basis. 2 were strats, 1st a 50's, but I fell in love w/ the RW and the pickups on the 60's Strat. I keep thinking about changing the bridge, but end up leaving it alone. I have the 50's Tele too, amazing axe. I beefed 'em up with 10's sometimes 11's (11's and Eb tuning, YES!), and that's about all. YOU NEED ONE!!
Members Woody_in_MN
I think you are going to hear varying opinions. I had a duo sonic CV that I liked quite a bit. I only sold it because it was not a good match for my main amp at the time. The guy I jam with is more of a Fender man, and his opinion is that the MIM Fenders are much better than the CV's. Members epi56ebony
I have everything from Masterbuilt strats to MIMs and I love my Squier Duo Sonic. Fantastic guitar!! All of the other Classic Vibes I've tried at GC were excellent. I also had a Classic Vibe P Bass that was also a winner that I sold to a friend so I could pay for a Hofner Icon Violin bass that I wanted. Thumbs up for the Classic Vibe. and they have a very cool logo. Wish I could find the Classic Vibe shirt they gave away with the guitars in a Large size. Cool Retro logo. Members kulardenu
I like em but just bought a used Korean made Tokai that blows em away! The Tele is a stellar buy though.

Members fiveoclockhero
Classic Vibes and Vintage Modified are the guitars that made Squiers desirable and not just the guitar you were stuck with if you were on a budget. I have a CV 50's Tele and I could scarcely ask for a better guitar for the price. They are building a reputation among players, critics and generally everybody with 300 bucks burning a hole in their pocket. I vote "Hell yes and then some"
Members DaleH
If you like the narrow nut then there a great buy. If you like a little wider the Highway One's are the best buy right now. You can get them new for $699.
Members jamdogg
yeah the neck is a bit thin for me on my CVT, but i still love it (quartersawn w/flame). will swap it out sometime in the near future. thats one cool thing about these guitars - you can slap a MIM/MIA neck on them no problem, or a standard fender 5 hole pg, bridge, neck humbucker, whatever. and even if you dont swap anything you have a very solid guitar for short $. Members kanamvar32
They are suprisingly nice. Definitely seem like a great value. One of the owners of the company I work for sold his Sadowsky guitar and bought 3 of the classic vibes (one tele and 2 strats).

Members srspud
Out of over 40 guitars I have the CV 50s Strat goes to every gig with me. It really turned out to be a very good quality axe that's light, fun to play and has the sounds I want. The quartersawn neck is beautiful and the finish is perfect. Great guitar. One purchase I'm really happy I made. It's a keeper, and that's is coming after 1 1/2 years of gigging with it.
Members Bro Blue
Yes, they are worth it. Are you going to get Custom Shop quality at Squier prices? No, but you will get a well made, dependable guitar that sounds great out of the box. New strings and a setup and you are ready to gig. Love my CV60s. Members mhuxtable
I own 4 CV guitars (50s p bass, duo sonic, 50s tele and tele custom) and they are hands down the best value. I favor them hands down over every MIM fender I've played.
Members Robert Kortus
My CV Tele is my #1. Would have paid twice what I did for it.
Members TheBlueStrat
I have a CV 60s Strat in sunburst and it is one of the best playing strats and has one of the best finishes I've had, barring any CS and some higher end American strats. They are a steal for the money IMO. A little upgrade to the hardware and you seriously have a really nice strat, even the stock pickups IMO are great. If they had olympic white and fiesta red RW board strats, I'd buy another two.
Members Stumpy Joe
Nice enough guitars. I just hate the super glossy necks.
Members aliensporebomb
Yeah. If you don't dig the glossy neck go grab an MIM. The CV's represent a great guitar at a very good price.
Members Angry Tele
best Tele Fender ever made.
Members jmcgui3
Yes, definitely worth it. The frets on the Squier CV 50's Tele are noticeably smaller than my other guitars, but I quickly got used to it. I think it stacks up as good or better than most MIM's I've played. Members clay sails
Classic Vibe = the most overrated cheap guitar ever made. I own a CV strat and I had a tele. They are fine. No problems. They aren't God's gift to guitars, though: just playable guitars from a company that has occasionally put out garbage and LOTS of overhype. Your definition of "overrated" must be "rated correctly" The reason people sing their praises is because they're affordable and excellent relative to the amount of money you're paying. On their own, they are quality instruments. Relative to the price, they are outstanding.
