Are these decent guitars?
Members Engl Kramer
Every Yamaha guitar I've played has been really nice and had a quality feel. For
Members danswon
yeah i just rang her. it's a done deal that's what i've always heard about Yamaha - really consistent quality even on lower end axes
Members actofgod22
That's pretty much the skinny on Yamaha, very underrated instruments at every level (low end, mid range, expensive).
Members fiveoclockhero
Relative to the price, they're a pretty good bet. I would have gone for it, too. Good choice.
Members FoonkySteve
Seen this guitar popping up a lot recently. I think it's actually an ERG 121?? Maybe not 10 years old, you can still buy them new now, for about
Members billybilly
Whack some new pickups in her, maybe a nut and bigger block for the trem if she needs any of that. I'd say she only needs pickups, those older yamy pickups were weak. Give her a good setup and happy playing. It's a steal. Yamy's are so good for bang for buck. Members Flogger59
That's an RGX121. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Members danswon
good feedback! yeah, picking it up in a few hours. i've got a few pickups lying around so i was thinking some combination of them. i'll probably put a gfs import trem with a big steel block. has it got a thin neck? Members billybilly
Those Yamy's are on the thinner side usually but not wizard thin. Kind of in between a strat and a wizard from previous experience. Easy to play for sure. Medium frets and about a 13 radius.
Members danswon
yeah i've just got back with it and i'm twanging it now (too late for the amp). i agree with you about the neck. this guitar definitely needs cleaning and setting up (the strings haven't been changed in over 10 years). just noodling around on the stock 9s (i use 10s), this could be a good player. easily worth the
Members streetknight
I love Yamaha's. I have 4 currently. SA2200, AES500, RGX-TT (Ty Tabor of King's X signature model), and an old Red Label acoustic. Bought the AES500 for $100 used with a hardshell. Congrats!!!
