Members MoreGuitars
As I posted earlier, I ordered a AF 75 and a Talman which should arrive Tues. I had the chance to play a Talman today and I am really excited to receive it. It has to be the best $200 value out there!

Members Control_67
My AFS75T, I have replaced the pickups with Gibson USA firebird minis, rewired it to two volumes and master tone with all new pots and switch, dice knobs, tusq nut, Vince Ray stickers and a flame strap. It's my rockabilly baby, twangs like a Gretsch at 1/5th the price.
Members made of stone'
yeah, guys, i feel guilty for badmouthing my beloved artcore, so... bump.
Members fuzzy4dice
I don't know what it is...I love cheap hollowbodies and I just can't get into the Artcore. It seems plasticy to me...something about the finish and fit or something. Anyway, it always seemed small to me too. What is the artcores width at it's widest point on the body? I can't even think about a jazz box with a less than 16" width.
Members made of stone'
it feels organic enough to me. though i'm not playing jazz on it, and mine's a semi anyway.
Members double rocker
i feel a little bit giddy. i just got an artcore as-73. for my style and level of play (alt rock, blues, beg/int jazz) i have to say it seems like an amazing deal for the money. the overall feel is really good, good tone, good fit, i really like the neck, "playability" seems high, nice to look at, good weight -- not too heavy, not too light. overall it definitely feels natural and comfortable, though i get that about not totally "organic." it doesn't miss by much, though. i really have nothing to complain about for $300 (gotoh tuners like on my RT would have been nice ). once i put in some golden age or maybe some SDs, i am going to be one happy camper. (and btw, anyone possibly interested in an ibanez RT-450, good price, email me. ) they gave me a free set of ernie ball .10 strings. do those suck, or what should i put on there? anyone have any recs? thx
Members made of stone'
i for one am not too picky about strings. as long as they're decent and .010, i'm game. i usually get daddario, which is what's available more easily in this corner of the world. i used to like ghs better, but they're more expensive now, and they difference in price is not justified to me, so it's daddario for me. congrats on your purchase, btw, and welcome to the gang! Members jumpchamp
has anyone tried the d'angelico f-hole inserts to help curtail feedback at stage volume on their artcore? i use my AS73 in a rock setting, and am getting all feedbacky when i boost for solos. Members jack83
I have and love an AS-73 (that's a stock photo but pretty close to mine).Use it mainly for classic/psychedelic rock, blues, a bit of jazzy playing. Great sounds both clean and (especially) distorted.Great guitar!
Members bronco
Hey Artcore Posse Comrades: What amp and pedals are your favorite for your artcore? I'm shoppin!
Members made of stone'
i only have a crate vintage club that i love, and that sounds great with my rick and g & l tele, but the artcore with stock pu's sounded like {censored} through it. i suppose it's not a good amp for hb's. Members bronco
So if you replaced them with SD Jazz or Gibson PAF's you'd expect the guitar to sound better, right? Which pickups should I avoid for this guitar?
Members Fret22
High output pickups are going to have more problems with feedback. I was nervous about putting the custom custom in mine since it
Members bronco
Thanks Fret! So your sound is better? How so?
Members made of stone'
the pu's i installed are actually hb's, but they're retrotons (filtertron copies), so they don't have your usual humbucker sound. they have a lot more highs and plenty of jangle. i wouldn't know about other hb's, as i'm not a big bucker fan. Members Fret22
Warmer. Obviously with more mid. A little more powerful but not overbearing. The A2Pro and the Custom Custom combination is probably not what most people would want. Don
