Members SoulIncision
I have a 2 humbucker setup, with a 5-way Fender style switch. Having a little trouble figuring out which contacts go where. This is the only diagram I can find for my switch, and 2 humbuckers. However, if you look at the switch position chart, it has the neck pick up in the middle position, and the 5th position is the Bridge pickup split...this is obviously NOT what I want to do. Using the chart a reference, my desired outcome is: 1. Bridge 2. Bridge Split 3. Neck and Bridge 4. Bridge w/ Neck Split 5. Neck How would the wiring go? The color coding on the chart is the same as the pickups I have. The only other diagrams I can find are for 3-way switches and super switches. Members SoulIncision
Great resource, but it doesn't have a diagram for the switch I am using. Only has the 5-way super switch. I have: http://www.guitarcenter.com/DiMarzio-5-Way-Pickup-Selector-Switch-101559102-i1130557.gc
Members PunkKitty
Maybe these will help:http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2hb_1vol_5way http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2hb_1vol_2tone_5way http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2hb_1vol_1tone_5way
Members SoulIncision
That's the same diagram I posted. The switch configuration is different from what it should be.
Members PunkKitty
Sorry. I couldn't see the pic that you posted. As you are looking at the bottom of the switch, there should be four lugs on either side of it. The spring that's portrayed in the diagram you posted may or may not be there. Don't worry about that. The lug configuration is what's important. They should correspond to the lugs on the diagram. It doesn't matter which side of the switch is which. The lug configuration should be the same. Depending on the pickups you are using, the color codes may be different. Here are the different color codes. If you only have 3 wires plus a bare ground on the pickup that you are using, the third wire that takes care of a split will replace the red and white wires in the diagram. I suppose I'm not quite sure what you are asking. What is the volume/tone control setup like? What kind of pickups are they?
Members SoulIncision
They are Seymour Duncan pickups. The problem is that this Diagram shows a switching configuration where the middle position selects the neck humbucker (this really begs me to ask the question: WHY?!). I want the middle position to be both neck and bridge humbuckers, and have the 5th/forward-most position to be the neck pickup. Basically, I need to know where each connection needs to be soldered in order to get the switch to work the way I want it to. 1. Bridge2. Bridge Split3. Neck and Bridge4. Bridge w/ Neck Split5. Neck As opposed to the diagram which shows position 3 selecting the neck pickup, and position 5 being bridge split.
Members PunkKitty
Sorry. I misread your original post. This is going to bug me because I've done something like this but cannot find the diagram. You might find something out here. I just stumbled across this site and haven't had a chance to thoroughly check it out. I'll continue to look. This is driving me nuts.
Members SoulIncision
HAH! I think one of the diagrams there will help. Thanks so much! FYI, check out the Pickup selectors section, there is a rundown of the different selections there.
