That's interesting stuff. I would like to read the Mike Anthony book which I have heard is in the making.

Liquified parts of his tongue and injected them...yeah...Ed is a fruitcake all right and somehow it doesn't surprise me that he said that.

Doesn't surprise me, I like Eddie, but I suspect if we all had that kind of money and success and the inevitable sycophantic suck-ups that seem to gather around those who have both, we'd all get a bit wacky too. When you hit that kind of living legend status, it's hard to find people you trust, people who'll tell you, "No" or "that isn't a good idea". Throw in a little substance abuse and there ya go, instant wacky.

About the only thing that would keep ME from crashing and burning if I had success like Eddie is already knowing that I have an addict personality. And I probably would anyway ...

Prime example. Prince too. Charlie Sheen perhaps. It's gotta be damn hard staying grounded when you have "people" to cushion you from reality and telling you you're the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Not only did he get beat up, one of the roadies came and took the guitar back!

Oh Prince is a whole different matter entirely. The man quite literally does not live in the same world that we do. If Prince asks for a camel at 2:00AM you GET HIM A {censored}ING CAMEL.

No {censored}. I still can't listen or look at him the same without thinking about a camel....or the whole shirts vs blouses and pancakes thing.

Thanks for sharing this. Good stuff. I grew up on Van Hagar and still love Sammy. Hagar makes a good point, music is bad right now, and it is a shame that Eddie didn't keep pumping out the riffs. Would have been interesting to see if he would have evolved more as a musician. There's quite a difference between the tones and feel of VH1 vs. F.U.C.K.
