Members Angelojf
Hey Guys, Have you ever heard of a Gibson Les Paul Studio Supreme? I have a chance to get one in a trade for my '06 MIA Strat.... I can't seem to find this one on line (check out its cool color that I can't find on sale on line!). Are you guys familiar with this guitar, and if so, what do you think of it?It's ability to play blues, early rock and roll, some jazz, but not metal? The only thing I don't like too much is the fatter neck.Check out the picture below, and give me opinions! https://mail.google.com/mail/s/?view=att&th=12ed10292f6dc5a1&attid=0.1&disp=attd&zw Thanks again. Members fretmonster
Sounds like a fair enough deal if everything checks out.
Members notjonahbutnoah
I would trade almost any strat for any Gibson Studio series in about .000000000000000000000001 seconds. For one, I just tend to enjoy Pauls more than Strats, and also, I feel that making an average Strat into a fantastic player is a relatively easy task. I haven't come across a strat that couldn't be tweaked into submission. I'd do it, LPs tend to hold their resale value a little better, in my opinion. Of course there are a million variables. I will say that a good playing LP with the right pickups can cover damn near anything. Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, Surf, Reggae, Rockabilly, Punk, Metal (if the right pedas/amp are used).... pretty much anything. True, some guitars lend themselves better than others to certain genres, but a good LP is a force to be reckoned with. My #1 is a Studio Mahogany from 06 (the mahogany part just means it doesn't have the maple top, just one big hunk of mahogany) and I frickin love that thing. I won't say it'll be #1 for the rest of my days, but I will say that it'll take a pretty awesome guitar to make me put it aside.
Members Mesa/Kramer
Link is dead for me. Gibson made a Les Paul Studio Premium Plus. Not sure about a Supreme. Here's mine
