Members orbm1
I REALLY like the blue one... BUT I can't get myself to spend $1,550 for a Studio.... I can buy a used Standard for that! If it came with ebony fretboard (as many already said) and BINDING, it would look so COOL! Omar

Members orbm1
Pretty cool guitars, and pretty cool story. (Now I'd really like to see photos of the factory floor.)Expensive for a Studio, but look at the $500 difference between the faded ones and the painted ones--this is another upcharge for the finish. Gibson doesn't hide what you're paying for.Surprised they're only doing this with the LP Studio. An SG would be cool, or a LP Std. Here is the story, they talk about the finish about the firebird X, but they are using the same finish for these guitars http://www.gibson.com/en%2Dus/Lifestyle/Features/firebird%2Dcreativity%2D1202/

Members Beckman
I don't mind them. I don't think I like the swirl on the headstock, but I could get over it.
Members Elias Graves
Haha, perhaps we need a petition for red SG floods? My GT is the closest thing I've ever seen to what I described except it doesn't have the crazy swirl paint job. I suppose if I was really determined I could have the scoop removed, the holes for it filled, and find somebody that could do similar paint. Not sure I wanna know how much I'd be looking at to have that done though. Please don't do that to your GT. Those are rare and incredibly cool. Members GAS Man
I like it, but I do think that $230 is a bit too much to up-charge for the swirlies. If you pay that much for it, then you're the only one "commemorating" the flood. Gibson should be picking up more of the cost of that paint job if they are commemorating the event, not passing it all along to the consumer. It was their flood, not mine. If it were more like $100 more, I might not bitch. But I do like the swirly green. The finish might be unique enough to make it worthwhile to someone with an eye for collecting rarities. I've got a Studio (Fireburst) arriving today. That with my BFG Studio, '83 Custom Shop Studio, and Robot Studio mean I'm done buying Studios. No room or money left. Members nighthawk15
Please don't do that to your GT. Those are rare and incredibly cool. EG Haha, thanks man. To be honest, I could never do that to it. More a thought that crossed my mind than anything I would think for a second of actually doing. That guitar will be with me till the day I die. Its like it was made for me and my mom actually got it for me with some extra money from a move when she saw it in a shop. She knew one of my biggest influences was angus young and that I've been a motor head as long as anybody can remember. I about {censored} at how awesome I thought it was the first time I opened the case and {censored} myself even worse the first time I played it. Its like it was built for me, it just feels perfect and always has. Not to sound like a puss but I was so happy the day I got it that I teared up. So yeah, the chances of it being irreversibly modified are pretty nonexistent.
Members kayd_mon
Interesting comments, all. I think the finish looks kinda cool. But to me, it's kind of a novelty. If I was buying just one Les Paul, it wouldn't have this finish. The price tag is a little steep, but like others have mentioned, sales can make it more manageable. Q: What's the one group that Gibson has never endorsed? A: A focus group. Gibson: only our own opinion is good enough!

Members HanSolo
Made from waterlogged wood with muddy pickups for the "drowned sound"? Sorry, no direspect meant to those who lost their lives and homes in the flood.

Members GAS Man
Damn. I was hoping for some huge discounts on water damaged guitars. Nah, you pay more for the pond or bacon treatment.
Members komodo117
No purple? For shame! That finish is begging to be done in purple or red. Price makes me want to punch myself in the balls though.
Members xrleroyx
Honestly, the price is pretty decent, especially for a very limited run of guitars. Also, isn't it an MOP logo inlay? That finish couldn't have been easy too. There's also a real limited supply of these. $1,500? Most reasonably priced "limited" model in awhile, save for the tributes. Members komodo117
Purple isn't a common color for sure, mainly because it looks awful. But if done right, especially with a cool psychedelic looking swirl like that, it'd look gorgeous. I want that on a Strat
