Members Into Nation
I think the big difference here is gibson was actually directly affected by it. That's true... Not trying on purpose to make a stink about it. It would have been sort of cool to do something like take a percent of proceeds from these guitars and erect a monument commemorating the event, or a fund for the affected, or... Members cuppster
Damn. I was hoping for some huge discounts on water damaged guitars.
Members Steadfastly
I think they're just more overpriced guitars that Gibson is trying to market. I would buy one, if they were the only guitar available.
Members drawdeep
I don't think I have EVER seen a guitar more in need of an Ebony fretboard... If these had Ebony fretboards, I would be over the blue one. If they ever did that finish in a Standard with an Ebony fretboard and white binding like the old Midnight Manhattan Special Editions, I would be
Members BrokenFighter
I was actually talking to someone about those today. They are the first Gibson I've ever wanted (I don't like Gibson's normally). They look awesome imho.
Members GCDEF
They should have made them a Standard and sold them for $1900 or so. That kind of money for a studio, no way.
Members BoneNut
Damn. I was hoping for some huge discounts on water damaged guitars. Why do you think they've completely covered the body wood with that finish? Just joking... just joking.
Members ExiledCrow
same finish they put on the Firebird Xs, actually. Which was, IMO, easily the coolest thing about the Firebird X ... unfortunately even a cool finish can't redeem that model.
Members truckdub
This {censored} never surprises me anymore! Anything for the almighty dollar! Gibson is a whore big company and will prostitute anything for a buck! Can I get a LP that was close to the bathroom and smells like {censored}? Get over yourself! They're a company. Company's are in existence for one reason...to make money. I am sure that the people they employ are pretty happy about this. They could have shuttered the whole place after the flood and put hundreds of people out of work. I guess you would find that more to your liking. How dare they try and stay in business and employ people!
Members Spudro
I would get one if I could score one at a huge bargain, mostly because I live in the Nashville area and that flood was something to remember. I will remember it without a Les Paul with a featured finish, but having lived here during it, a commemorative piece would be cool, but I'd have to get a Wooo-HOOOO price discount coz I don't need another Les Paul. Members nighthawk15
If they put that finish on an SG in red with an ebony fretboard and white binding, I would have a GAS attack right now like the world has never seen.

Members tiltsta
I kind of like the blue one. I'd like it more if it had a bound neck and burstbucker pro pickups, but I still like the look.

Members Les Paul Lover
Commemorating the Nashville flood? I was gonna say, we finally get this world famous pond finish. That guitar will be a tone beast!!! More seriously, I like them - those swirly shiny finish look very good on stage.
Members cbh5150
It doesn't suck... I would agree, though, that an ebony board would make a big difference overall.
Members nighthawk15
I know, right? C'mon, throw the SG some love! Haha, perhaps we need a petition for red SG floods? My GT is the closest thing I've ever seen to what I described except it doesn't have the crazy swirl paint job. I suppose if I was really determined I could have the scoop removed, the holes for it filled, and find somebody that could do similar paint. Not sure I wanna know how much I'd be looking at to have that done though.
Members faberbz
Pretty cool guitars, and pretty cool story. (Now I'd really like to see photos of the factory floor.) Expensive for a Studio, but look at the $500 difference between the faded ones and the painted ones--this is another upcharge for the finish. Gibson doesn't hide what you're paying for. Surprised they're only doing this with the LP Studio. An SG would be cool, or a LP Std.
